Book Review- ”The Life & Teachings of Jesus Christ”

This book would be perfect for a Bible Study on its own. It addresses questions that people might have about how Jesus taught through His healings, parables, the “Sermon on the Mount”, etc. It provides a more in-depth understanding of the Gospels than might have been studied previously, showing new perspectives or insights.

The book delves into areas such as prayer life, pointing out reasons why the absence of prayer can be a result of our impatience, busyness, ingratitude, or lack of faith. The author goes on to tell why constant prayer is necessary, as Jesus urges us to come to Him in prayer with all our needs and also our thanks.

Another chapter speaks plainly about sin and its remedy-forgiveness! There is something in Jesus’ presence that takes sinners’ despair away and replaces it with great hope!

Even though Jesus taught with authority, he was never dictatorial, overbearing, or forcing acceptance. Jesus came to earth to be more than the usual legislators of his time. He lived and died to give us a new spirit to make us free.

This book is an excellent choice for those who want to learn about Christ in a format that is easy to understand.

The Advent Angel Game (November 30, 2025 – December 21, 2025)

Bible Verse: Hebrews 1:14: "Are not all angels spirits in the divine service, sent to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?"

The Advent Angel Game invites us to show love and kindness during the Christmas season. Each participant will secretly become someone’s “angel,” serving them with acts of kindness and small surprises until the joyful reveal on December 21st!

How to Play:

1. Name Drawing: Everyone who joins this game will draw a name from a container. This is the person you will secretly serve.

2. Keep the name you drew a secret!

3. Serving Secretly: You will secretly serve the person whose name you drew. This could be through kind words, helpful acts, cards, notes, or small gifts (like handmade items, food, or something they enjoy).

4. Using Messengers: You can ask someone else (a “messenger”) to help deliver your words and deeds. If you are asked to be a messenger, say: “I am the messenger of your angel. Your angel wants me to deliver this gift/these words.”

5. Thank Your Angel on December 21st: On December 21st, after the worship service, you will give a gift to your angel as a thank you. Keep the gift under $10. This is the day you will reveal who your angel is.

6. Guess Who Your Angel Is: Before giving your gift to your angel on December 21st, you will thank the angel for the service and try to guess who your angel is, sharing how the angel served you.

Purpose:

This game helps us practice love and service by giving time, encouragement, and small gifts to others in the spirit of the Christmas season. You can do this in a fun or dramatic way!
